Description:
Louisville Young Catholics is proud to again be hosting this year's Holy Thursday Seven Churches Pilgrimage. The seven churches pilgrimage is a tradition begun in Rome by St. Philip Neri, where pilgrims would travel by foot to the seven basilicas in Rome to pray and sing hymns. While we do not have seven basilicas in Louisville, we do have many churches that offer altars of repose on Holy Thursday, the traditional day for the pilgrimage. At each station, you will have the opportunity to pray, contemplate, and read Holy Scriptures. It is highly recommended to bring a Bible, rosary, or other spiritual reading on the journey. If you do not know what to pray or read, we will provide suggested Bible readings and prayers for each station. We will start with Holy Thursday Mass at St. Boniface at 5:30, followed up with the first station. We will then end at St. James with night prayer (compline) and dinner to follow at BoomBozz nearby. If you are only able to make a few of the stations, that works as well. The order of the stations, with times to be announced later, are:St. BonifaceHoly SpiritSt. RaphaelSt. Francis of AssisiSt. ThereseSt. Martin of ToursSt. JamesIf you have any other questions, please e-mail Trevor Mahoney (trevor.mahoney@uwalumni.com).
